` I’m really sad now ’cause I was mean to my kitties when I was a kid because my dad and other people were even worse to me. I thought there was something wrong with me and that literally everything that happened (or even things that didn’t) was all my fault.
` As me and my kitty got older, we learned how to love each other. Now I have two kittens and I will make sure they’re never tormented by anyone. I promise!!
` …But I will have to trim their nails now and again.
My pets were victims as well. When Mom left Dad, the apt couldn’t have pets. I was sent to Grandma’s for the two weeks during the move. My dog and cat “disappeared.” Later in college, my dog was too expensive to board while Mom came for a visit – she “disappeared” too – along with Sister’s dog and cat. Thanks for this reminder
